Leydig, Voit & Mayer successfully defended STATS LLC in a patent infringement case, in which the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) issued a final written decision declaring all asserted claims invalid. The PTAB also resolved, in STATS's favor, a procedural issue that a Petitioner need not anticipate in the petition all of the Patent Owner's possible responsive claim constructions. Hockeyline appealed the decision to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and Leydig argued the appeal. On November 4, the Federal Circuit affirmed the PTAB’s decision in its entirety, confirming a win for STATS LLC.
Leydig attorneys Aaron R. Feigelson, David M. Airan and Wesley O. Mueller represented STATS LLC.
