The owner of a patent relating to drill guides for dental implants sued Leydig’s client, a leading provider of digital dentistry technologies, for patent infringement in federal court. As part of its defense to the litigation, the client sought Inter Partes Review (IPR) of the patent in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). In a panel that included USPTO Director Michelle Lee, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) determined that most of the patent claims are unpatentable.
Leydig attorneys Wesley O. Mueller, Thomas P. Canty, and Aaron R. Feigelson represented the client.
