HTC Corporation Wins Patent Infringement Suit

In a decision handed down on July 21, 2015 by the U.S. district court in Chicago, HTC Corporation, represented by the firm Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP and Leydig attorney Paul Korniczky, was awarded nearly $4.1 million in attorney fees. The award compensates HTC Corporation for its legal fees incurred in defending against an infringement suit pursued by Intellect Wireless based on a patent obtained through inequitable conduct. Both Intellect Wireless and four specifically named attorneys at the Niro firm, which represented Intellect Wireless, are jointly and severally liable for the attorney fees award.
