Patent Agents & Scientific Advisors

Being able to speak a common technical language enables our Patent Agents and Scientific Advisors to work closely with inventors and quickly get to the heart of an invention.  Leydig, Voit & Mayer’s Patent Agents and Scientific Advisors have superior technical expertise that greatly benefits our clients in all areas of patent prosecution and opinion work.  A three-tiered system within the firm allows advisors and agents to grow and advance in their roles.  Qualified individuals with a love for technology and holding an advanced degree in science or engineering are invited to apply.  Along with excellent academic credentials and writing skills, a superior candidate will hold a Ph.D. in his or her field and/or have years of industry experience.  No prior knowledge of patent law is required.

BIOTECH PATENT AGENT

Candidates should possess 3+ years of experience in the intellectual property field (including patent application preparation and prosecution, opinions and client counseling), possess strong writing/analytical skills, superior academic credentials, and a technical background in biology, genetics, cell biology, microbiology, molecular biology or a related field. An advanced technical degree is desirable, but not required. All candidates must be registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office for a minimum of three years.
